Coach JJ Redick expresses optimism about Adou Thiero's recovery, but will he be available by the end of the week?
I was heartbroken when I heard that Adou Thiero, the young Lakers player, has been sidelined with knee issues since the preseason. But now, Coach JJ Redick is expressing optimism about his recovery.
Adou Thieros Recovery Finally Showing Signs of Progress
Thiero has yet to make his regular-season debut because of swelling in his left knee. The swelling was happening in the same knee that he had surgery on during the spring of 2025.
Coach's Optimism
Redick said 'He's had some live exposures, and I think he's trending in the right direction. Hopefully by the end of the week he'll be available.'
The Road to Recovery
I'm thrilled that Adou Thiero's recovery from knee issues is finally showing signs of progress. The Lakers announced on Wednesday that he was assigned to the G League affiliate, Coachella Valley Lakers, for practice, which suggests that he's getting closer to making his season debut.
Thiero has been out since the preseason due to swelling in his left knee, which is the same knee he had surgery on during the spring of 2025. He was also sidelined during training camp, preseason, and the first 13 games of the regular season while dealing with this issue.
The Lakers have taken a cautious approach with Thiero's rehabilitation, but it seems like they're optimistic about his chances of returning to the court soon. With the team off to a strong start at 6-2, they can afford to be patient and let him continue to work on his recovery without rushing him back.
Thiero has been assigned to the G League for practice, but it seems like a cautious approach is being taken with him after recurring knee problems disrupted much of his rookie campaign.
