I was blown away by the Pepperdine men's basketball team's dominating performance against La Sierra in their home opener. The final score was a decisive 106-66 victory for the Waves, and it's clear that they were the superior team from start to finish.

The Next Game

What's Next?

Pepperdine boasts 13 NCAA postseason appearances under its belt

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the sheer dominance of Pepperdine's performance against La Sierra. But what really gets me is the rich history behind this program. With 13 NCAA postseason appearances, 12 WCC Regular-Season Championships, and three WCC Tournament Championships under their belt, it's clear that this team has been built to last.

And let's not forget about the impressive list of alumni who have gone on to make a name for themselves in the NBA. I mean, 19 All-Americans and 19 NBA players is no small feat. And did you know that Pepperdine had at least one alum on an NBA roster for an astonishing 34 consecutive seasons from 1976-2011? That's a legacy that speaks for itself.

But what really caught my attention was the fact that this team has been able to maintain such high standards despite the challenges they've faced. And it's not just about the wins and losses – it's about the culture of excellence that permeates every aspect of the program.

The Players Behind the Stats

Of course, no discussion of Pepperdine's success would be complete without mentioning some of the standout players who made this victory possible. Petar Majstorovic was a force to be reckoned with on Thursday night, leading the team with 21 points on an impressive 9-of-10 shooting.

But what really impressed me was the way the team came together to support each other. With Jahari Williamson and Alex Constanza dishing out six assists apiece, it's clear that this team has a strong sense of camaraderie and trust in their teammates.

And let's not forget about Anthony Robinson, who posted a career-high 16 points and seven boards on the night. His ability to get to the line 11 times and come away with five rebounds on the offensive glass was truly impressive.
